Company Overview

Youverify is a Regulatory technology company that provides a suite of verification solutions for businesses of all sizes. Its enterprise system, the Youverify Operating System, houses all of Youverify's verification solutions, including KYC (Know Your Customer), KYB (Know Your Business), KYE (Know Your Employee), and KYT (Know Your Transaction). It also features other compliance and regulatory solutions, such as risk intelligent assessment, adverse media, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), sanction list screening, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) screening, address verification, document capture, liveness detection, and the YVOS workflow automation builder.

My Role

I was primarily responsible for the user experience design of the know-your-business (KYB), know-your-employee (KYE), and compliance workflow builder features.

Reimagining the Know Your Business (KYB) SolutionExplore Product

My Process

I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of our old designs and user research to identify problems and develop solutions. Based on the feedback and data I gathered, I understand how the current information architecture and user journey map are frustrating users. Additionally, the visual interface is confusing to users.

I developed a new user journey map and designed a low-fidelity wireframe to address these issues. The new user flow provides clear and easy-to-understand navigation.

I presented the initial low-fidelity wireframe to the product design, product management, and software engineering teams. We collaborated and brainstormed ways to improve it. I then iterated on the low-fidelity design and created the high-fidelity design, incorporating our design system, which includes colors, typography, icons, and visual assets.

Impact

The clearly defined user flow and visual user interface made it easy for users to successfully complete business verifications. We achieved a 99% success rate and an average verification time of 1 second. Also, we developed an easy-to-navigate interface and case management tool for a faster and more efficient review of business verification results.

Designing the Know Your Employee (KYE) SolutionExplore Product

The Know Your Employee (KYE) solution is a platform that enables businesses and individuals to verify the identity and background of their current and prospective employees. It provides a comprehensive set of verification services, including employment history, professional certification, educational certificates, reference checks, credit history, and NYSC verification.

I collaborated with the product design team to design the user flows, user experience, and visual user interface of the platform. We designed over 300+ user interfaces to ensure a positive user experience.

Impact

Although this product is still under development, we have successfully created a clear and concise user journey map, appealing user interfaces, and a working prototype. We demoed the prototype to stakeholders and received positive feedback.

Improving the user experience of the compliance workflow builderExplore Product

The compliance workflow builder, formerly known as the V-forms, is a low-code/no-code tool that businesses can use to create custom, step-by-step compliance processes that users must complete before onboarding to their platform. It can be customized to meet specific needs, such as identity verification, anti-money laundering (AML) screening, address verification, and biometric authentication.

I improved the user experience of the product by designing the workflow builder shortcuts to help easy navigations on the platform, adding country selectors to the business verification and identity verification checks to accommodate the increasing data sources, and designing a consent form to help ensure that users' consent is obtained for their details being used for various compliance checks.

Impact

Users can seamlessly build compliance automation using the workflow builder shortcuts. They can design verification workflows based on their preferred demographics and compliance needs. Users can give or decline consent for a verification check.

Introducing downloadable verification reports

Due to the high completion rate of verification checks and other compliance and regulatory verifications, there was a need to introduce a downloadable report for any verification performed. This would allow users to have an offline copy of any verification check that was performed.

I designed templates for all the verifications that can done on the Youverify operating system, which includes identity verifications, address verification, business verification, Anti-money laundering check, etc.

Learnings

While designing this products, i learnt prioritizing the needs, behaviors, and preferences of users is paramount. Designing with empathy and understanding leads to products that resonate with users and address real-world challenges effectively. Also effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. Engaging with developers, product managers, sales team, and other stakeholders early and consistently fosters a holistic approach to product design and ensures alignment with business goals.
